USB4 2.0 New Standard Released | ZONSAN

2023-01-10 On September 1, 2022, the USB-IF official website updated its announcement, officially releasing a new generation of data interface specification, USB4 version 2.0, which supports data transfer rates of up to 80Gbps, surpassing Thunderbolt 4.



Open the USB-IF official website to see the USB4 version 2.0 content update announcement in a prominent position, after two major updates were released on September 30, 2021 for the USB Type-C trademark specification, and May 26, 2021 for the PD3.1 fast charging standard.

The previously released USB4 1.0 standard was developed on Thunderbolt 3 technology with a maximum data transfer rate of 40Gbps, while the newly released USB4 2.0 version, developed based on a new physical layer architecture, increases the data transfer rate from 40Gbps peak to 80Gbps peak, creating a higher performance ceiling for the USB-C ecosystem.
