Mr. Li of Meilan revealed on Weibo that the charging power of iPhone 16 will be increased to 40W.

According to mainstream news, this year's iPhone 16 series will still consist of four models.

They are iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.



Among them, iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus rear camera will adopt a vertical design so that spatial video shooting will be possible.

The iPhone 16 Pro series models are expected to bring larger screen size, narrower screen borders, and the debut of the shooting button.



Body size, the body size of the iPhone 16 series, will usher in major changes. The screen size of iPhone 16/iPhone 16 Plus is the same as the previous generation, 6.1 inches/6.7 inches respectively. The screen size of iPhone 16 Pro/iPhone 16 Pro Max will be increased to 6.3 inches/6.9 inches. There is no change in width and thickness, and the main increase is the height of the fuselage.

Correspondingly, because the screen has become larger, the weight has also increased.

Display material, according to The Elec, Apple plans to use a new OLED material on the iPhone 16. The new OLED panel uses "microlens" technology, which can reduce power consumption while maintaining high brightness compared to traditional OLED panels, so it is more energy-efficient.



In terms of imaging, Apple hopes that the iPhone camera can be linked with the Vision Pro headset, allowing the iPhone 16 series to support spatial video shooting and jointly build the Vision Pro video ecosystem.

Therefore, the camera design of iPhone 16 has also ushered in major adjustments. According to the prototype renderings revealed by the supply chain, the camera arrangement of the standard version of iPhone 16 will be changed from a diagonal layout to a vertical layout, similar to the camera in iPhone 12.



The chip aspect is more critical. As we all know, the TSMC process used by A17 Pro is not ideal. Because the density is too aggressive, the chip energy efficiency has not opened up a gap with the 4nm process, and the low yield leads to high costs.

RAM, flash memory RAM, and flash memory capacity are too low, which is the eternal pain of Apple fans. The standard version of iPhone 15 has only 6GB RAM and 128GB flash memory. The iPhone 15 model supports 27W wired charging and 15W MagSafe wireless charging. In this comparison, the increase in charging power this time is very large.

In addition, Bloomberg reported yesterday that Apple has informed its suppliers and partners that in the second half of 2024, the shipment target for the iPhone 16 series models will increase by 10% compared with the iPhone 15 series.



In the second half of last year, Apple shipped about 81 million iPhone 15s. This means that the shipment of iPhone 16 will exceed 90 million units at least.

Bloomberg also mentioned that one of the important reasons why Apple is so optimistic about the shipment of iPhone 16 is that Apple Intelligence introduced in the iOS 18 system can greatly enhance the competitiveness of the product, thereby stimulating users' upgrade needs and desire to buy.
